Three Decor Styles You'll Find in theLOFT

theLOFT is hands-down one of our favorite spaces at Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet. It’s also where our customers come to find unique decorative pieces and interior design inspiration. Why? Because our experienced buyers choose each and every curated piece of furniture found in theLOFT!

Located in our Acworth and Hiram showrooms, theLOFT is an eclectic blend of different trending decor styles, from rustic farmhouse, to industrial, to mid-century modern. Whether your decorative taste is for wrought iron, reclaimed wood, or handcrafted carpentry, we have the perfect unique piece for your chosen style. The goal with today’s post is to give you just a taste of some of our favorite decor styles that you can find in theLOFT:

Farmhouse Décor

Farmhouse Style

The Interlude 5 Piece Dining Set is one of many examples of Farmhouse Style in theLOFT.

Farmhouse style, sometimes also known as cottage style, is an homage to the simplicity and warmth of rural farm life. Often characterized by vintage hardwoods and muted neutral tones, it is both functional and comfortable. Farmhouse is a timeless, classic, design style that anyone can do with a little effort.

When done correctly, the farmhouse look is one of subtle sophistication. Think Joanna Gaines or Paula Deen, both of whom utilize variations of this style, albeit differently, in many of their furniture lines. The aptly named farmhouse table practically screams farmhouse style. Here in theLOFT we have an ever-changing variety of farmhouse tables, many of which are made the old-fashioned way – by hand.

Industrial Décor

Industrial Style

If you love the look of cast iron, worn brick, old factory carts and Edison bulbs, Industrial style may be the flavor for you.

Decidedly more urban than farmhouse style, industrial style is still every bit as vintage. Industrial style takes much of its inspiration from the industrial spaces of yesteryear. If you love the look of cast iron, worn brick, old factory carts and Edison bulbs, this may be the stylistic flavor for you.

This minimalist look is characterized by clean lines, exposed metal and distressed wood. It also has a distinct air of functionality. After all, what is more functional or efficient than a factory? With industrial decor, you never have to worry about “the form” overtaking “the function”.

Mid-Century Modern

Mid-Century Modern

The Walters Sofa is a perfect example of Mid-century Modern style. In theLOFT in Acworth or online.

Lastly, mid-century modern is another furniture style you’ll find in theLOFT. As the name might suggest, mid-century modern design evolved during the 1930s to 1960s. It was an all-encompassing artistic movement that included everything from interior design to architecture.

Key design elements include extremely clean lines with right angles, materials like glass and stainless steel, mixed with the occasional odd, curved geometric shape. This gives mid-century modern a very eclectic, retro futuristic feel.  For an oversimplified example, think of the look of Mad Men; or even The Jetsons for a clearly futuristic take on 1950s and 1960s America.
